Army Cadet Medal of Merit - HOWARD

HOWARD SUMMARY

The HOWARD Bar commemorates Major General William Howard , a former Colonel Commandant of  the Royal Canadian Army Cadets who devoted himself  to fostering leadership and citizenship in youth. His contributions helped shape both the Army Cadet  League and the Army Cadet program nationwide.

Building on the legacy of the original Major General Howard Award, this honour is presented to outstanding Gold Star Army Cadets whose performance exemplifies the highest ideals of the program.

This is an evolution of the Major General Howard Award that continues to fulfil his and his family’s wishes, preserving his legacy.

With one award granted for every 500 cadets per Branch , the HOWARD Bar signifies exceptional achievement and continued dedication to Major General Howard’s vision.
